Pacific Crest Restoration (PCR) is a dedicated environmental non-profit committed to long-term landscape recovery, wildfire resilience, and hydrological health. Operating across Riverside, San Bernardino, Orange, Los Angeles, and San Diego counties, we combine science-backed ecological engineering with hands-on community action to heal degraded regional habitats.


Our Science-Driven Approach
We believe that true environmental stewardship requires precision, accountability, and deep respect for natural systems. Our projects are built around a multi-tiered ecological framework designed for measurable, lasting impact:

  • Targeted Invasive Suppression: We utilize light mechanical methods during early pre-anthesis bolting to clear invasive annuals without relying on chemical herbicides or heavy soil disruption.
  • Sustainable Biomass Management: 100% of organic biomass is retained on-site, transformed into heat-aged mulch or structured into contour brush piles that serve as critical micro-refugia for small wildlife.
  • Micro-Hydrological Earthworks: We construct engineered contour infiltration swales designed to capture stormwater, prevent erosion, and achieve 100% rapid infiltration within 12 to 24 hours for complete vector safety.
  • High-Capacity Stormwater Capture: Our passive hydrological features capture between 8,000 and 13,500 gallons of stormwater per acre during a standard 1-inch storm event, actively supporting local groundwater recharge.
  • Phased Ecological Succession: We implement a structured transition model—starting with soil-binding herbaceous understories, moving to mid-story chaparral green firebreaks, and maturing into resilient oak and sycamore canopies.

Our plant palettes are strictly regional, sourced within exact elevation matches to ensure complete establishment without supplemental irrigation after Year 3. From deep-rooted keystone trees like Coast Live Oaks to pollinator powerhouses like California Buckwheat, every species is selected to rebuild functional, self-sustaining food webs.

Wildfire Resilience & Defensible Space
We partner with private landowners and public agencies to reduce catastrophic wildfire risks in the Wildland-Urban Interface (WUI) by strategically replacing volatile invasive fuels with resilient native green firebreaks such as Toyon, Sugar Bush, and Scrub Oak. We safeguard local communities while enhancing biodiversity.

Urban Air Quality & Logistics Corridor Protection
Positioned near major regional transportation and warehouse corridors, our dense broadleaf evergreen vegetation barriers act as living filters. These multi-layered plantings capture airborne particulate matter and help mitigate industrial air quality impacts.
